Once upon a time when I was expecting my first child, I took down all of the blinds in our small NYC apartment. They looked as grungy as the ones I'd had on Astor Street in Chicago a few years earlier. The joys of city life! Figuring more was better, I put them in the bathtub and dumped a concoction of cleaners on them. Fortunately, the chemical bath didn't blow up! There was a very strong smell, so I was lucky I didn't pass out or put the baby in jeopardy. Needless to say, I've learned a lot about cleaners since then.
Thanks to Earth Day (April 22), we tend to focus on being green in this beautiful season of renewal. There's a much better way to clean blinds and everything else.
Have you tried green cleaners? If so, did you like them? Some people have a bad experience - often with the ability of the cleaner to do the job - and aren't willing to try another than might be better.
