A Very Close Call

As you might guess, this is the story of a biking accident, starring a fit, athletic 64-year-old named "Rick."  An ardent bicycler, Rick ran "face-first" into a rock wall at 25 mph.

When he reached the hospital, he was uncon-scious with a crushed skull, broken orbital socket as well as having air and blood on the brain.  Rick's wife was told that he might not come through the surgery - and would certainly have brain damage.

What was the outcome?  He was in surgery over 9 hours.  Afterward, he was held together with titanium plates and screws in his forehead and orbital socket.  The surgeon said that Rick would need 12 - 18 months to get back to a normal life.

Realizing that Rick was very good shape, the surgeon asked him what he was doing.  He was so impressed with the Shaklee regimen that he sided with Rick & his wife in getting the hospital to allow him to take Shaklee in ICU.  That is almost unheard of!  Normally you have to eat what comes from the hospital's kitchen. Among other things, Rick took 2 or 3 smoothees (Shaklee Life Energizing Shake) per day and tripled the amount of OmegaGuard he was taking.  He recovered so quickly that after 5 days in ICU they sent him home.  The doctors and nurses couldn't believe it.

Because of his healthy nutrition program, including Shaklee supplements - and a lot of prayer, 5 weeks after the accident Rick was playing 18 holes of golf and felt fine.  That was amazingly less than the year or year and a half the doctor had projected as his recovery time.
