February - Let's Celebrate Your Healthy Heart! #2

Let's continue our heart health journey, this time looking at high blood pressure.  Is this a major problem in the US?  Yes, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about 30% of us have it and another 30% have "prehypertension", which means they have a good chance of developing high BP in the future.  Over 70% of those who have their first heart attack or stroke have high BP.  It's also the number one risk factor for stroke, which is the fourth greatest cause of death here.  So what can you do?

1)  Lifestyle:  Know and track your blood pressure.  It's easy to do with a home BP cuff.  Eat a healthy diet.  If you're over your ideal weight, work on that.  Also, don't smoke.  Drink alcohol in moderation.  And exercise!

2)  Coenzyne Q10 (CoQ10):  100 mg of CoQ10 helped to lower BP in  clinical studies.

3)  Fish Oil:  3,000 mg. or more of omega-3 fish oil has been shown to help lower BP.  (Pictured)

4)  Garlic:  1,000 mg of garlic extract has been shown to help lower blood pressure.

Can Shaklee be of help to you?  Yes!  CoQ Heart has a proprietary blend of 100 mg. of Coenzyme Q10 plus resveratrol in a bioavailable softgel with an olive oil delivery system.    In two OmegaGuard you get 1,200 mg of fish oil, including EPA, DHA and five other naturally found fatty acids.  It's guaranteed to be pharmaceutical grade.    Garlic Complex has 1,000 mg (1 gram) of garlic powder plus spearmint oil and rosemary extract in two tablets, a Shaklee favorite for many years.  Let me know if I can help - or just order on line.
