First MINDWORKS Grant Awarded !

When Shaklee announced its innovative brain health product, MindWorks,
in August, 2014, they also promised to create a fund to support research on nutrition and brain health.  And they have done just that!

Dr. Jeong-Su Kim, Associate Professor of Florida State University, was selected as the first MindWorks Grant recipient.  "Dr. Kim is an Exercise Physiologist whose primary research interest so far has focused on the study of sarcopenia - the age-related degeneration of skeletal muscle - and other neuromuscular changes related to aging, exercise, and physical function."

"Dr. Kim has been awarded more than $100,000 by Shaklee to study the effects of MindWorks supplementation on cognitive function, motor skills, and balance in middle-aged and older individuals.  This is an example of Shaklee's support of nutrition research as well as our confidence in the quality of the products."  It's likely for the double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical testing to take over a year to complete, including the reporting of the results.

MindWorks is available in the United States, Canada and Japan currently.  It contains "key nutrients which have been shown in clinical trials to provide short-term benefits including improvements in memory, concentration and reaction time*, as well as ingredients that support long-term brain health.*  It comes to you only through Shaklee distributors.  A bottle contains 30 tablets, which provide a month's supply. MindWorks is recommended for adults (18 and over) who are not pregnant or lactating.  This exciting product opens the door to science-based nutrition for mental acuity today and for many years to come.

As many of you know, dementia and schizophrenia are in my family, going back a few generations and perhaps more.  So to me this is marvelous.  I will so look forward to next year when the research results come from Dr. Jeong-Su Kim.
