The Sun Comes in a Bottle

Did you hear that NASA suggested vitamin D supplements for the recovery of the miners trapped underground in Chile? After all, they saw no sunlight for many weeks - and that's where we get vitamin D.  It's produced when the sun touches our skin.

Vitamin D has been in the spotlight for the last 18 months. You may have heard about two cutting-edge scientific studies funded by Shaklee Corporation, for whom I've marketed products since 1985.  They've found that  "supplemental vitamin D is clinically supported and proven to significantly raise blood levels of vitamin D."

Did you know that up to 80% of Americans may have too little
vitamin D?  So what does that mean?   Low vitamin D can undermine our health in several ways - and more on that next time.
